Curves Hampton & Teddington is celebrating its 20th anniversary, marking two decades of delivering community-driven fitness to women locally, while operating under the world’s fourth largest franchise. As part of Curves, the club continues to demonstrate the long-term viability of the women-only fitness model within the UK market.
At the centre of the club’s success is Curves signature 30-minute full-body workout, designed to be completed three to four times per week. The circuit integrates strength training, cardio and stretching into one streamlined session led by a qualified coach, creating an accessible format that welcomes women of all ages and fitness journeys.
Unlike traditional weighted machines, Curves hydraulic equipment adapts in real time. The harder and faster a member pushes, the greater the resistance. This allows members of varying ages and abilities to complete the same circuit while receiving an appropriate level of challenge. Curves SMART technology tracks each member’s performance across the circuit. The system measures metrics such as pace, power and range of motion, providing instant feedback during the workout and detailed progress reports over time.
Each new member begins with a one-to-one consultation conducted by a trained Curves Coach, including a body composition assessment to evaluate where to target and tone. Consultations also address lifestyle factors such as nutrition, sleep and stress, reinforcing a holistic coaching framework.

Curves Hampton and Teddington owner, Marianna Franzese, represents a full-circle franchise story. Having first attended the club at 16 alongside her mother, she later acquired the business when it faced closure following the operational challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Just two days before the club was due to close for good, Marianna stepped in and quickly reopened the business.
Today, Curves Hampton and Teddington welcomes both new and returning women every day. Under her leadership, the club has grown to over 200 active members, with strong retention rates and long-standing loyalty that set it apart in an increasingly competitive fitness market. Many have been attending for years, reflecting the strength of Curves coaching model and the measurable results delivered through its signature 30-minute circuit format.
“Taking over the club felt deeply personal because Curves was where my own fitness journey began” says Marianna.
“Returning years later as the owner gave me a completely different perspective, not just on the community we’ve built here, but on how powerful the Curves model really is. It’s a system designed around women, and when it’s delivered with the right coaching and support, you see the impact it has on their confidence, strength and overall wellbeing. We’re more than a fitness club, we’re a family committed to growing together.”

To mark its 20th anniversary, Curves Hampton & Teddington will launch a ‘Sponsor a Member’ initiative, inviting nominations from the local community. One selected individual will receive a fully funded 12-month membership (worth £660), reinforcing the club’s commitment to making women’s fitness more accessible locally.
Alongside the anniversary celebrations, the club has also undergone a refresh under Marianna’s ownership, with new coaches joining the team and an expanded timetable of classes centred around Curves signature 30-minute workout.
