What began as a summer garden party in Buckinghamshire ended with £320,839 raised for One Kind Act. Hosted by Pyramid Pharmacy Group, the annual event brought together guests, local businesses and community supporters for a day dedicated to fundraising.
The garden party took place on Saturday 27th June 2026 at the Buckinghamshire home of the Bhogal family, owners of Pyramid Pharmacy Group. This year’s total marks a significant increase on the £80,000 raised last year, reflecting the growing support behind the charity and its work.
Pyramid Pharmacy Group is a family-run collection of independent community pharmacies with more than 25 locations nationwide. Alongside its Pharmacy First, NHS and private services, the group remains committed to supporting initiatives that improve lives beyond the pharmacy counter.
The event was fully hosted and funded by Pyramid Pharmacy Group, so none of the day’s costs came out of the final total. Ticket sales, raffles, the charity auction and guest pledges all went straight to One Kind Act.
Over the years, One Kind Act has funded projects across Europe, Asia and Africa, helping to improve lives through better health, education and poverty relief. Its support has reached a wide range of causes, from hunger relief and child welfare to homelessness, cancer care and head injury foundations.
Rather than running programmes itself, the charity distributes the funds it raises as grants to organisations that need financial support for specific projects. Each organisation is carefully reviewed before funding is awarded, helping to keep waste and infrastructure costs to a minimum.
Around 220 guests attended the garden party, which combined fundraising with an afternoon of celebration. A catered lunch, live music and a DJ set the tone for the day before guests turned their attention to the raffle, pledges and auction.
The standout lot of the auction was a Rolex Submariner, which drew the highest bid of the day and sold for £14,000. Samit and Alpa Hathi of B&S Group gave a further boost to the total as the event’s largest donors.
The raffle contributed further to the total, with Pyramid Pharmacy Group joined by guests and local businesses in donating prizes. Their generosity reflected the strength of the community network behind the event and its shared commitment to One Kind Act’s work.
“We are incredibly proud of what we have been able to achieve for One Kind Act”
said Raj Bhogal, CEO of Pyramid Pharmacy Group.
“For us, community pharmacy has always been about more than healthcare. It’s about looking after people and doing what we can to support the communities around us.”
“Hosting this event was a privilege for our family and for everyone at Pyramid Pharmacy Group. Seeing everyone come together for One Kind Act was incredibly special, and we’re grateful to everyone who helped make the day such a success.”
The charity’s patron, former England international cricketer Mark Ramprakash, also joined the celebrations and lent his support to the day’s fundraising.
Organisers had originally set a fundraising target of £100,000, but by the end of the afternoon the total had reached £320,839. This record sum will go directly towards One Kind Act’s grant-making work, helping to fund organisations supporting communities in need.
