Esme’s Umbrella

Judith launched Esme’s Umbrella – in memory of her Mother – to raise awareness of Charles Bonnet Syndrome (CBS), to create support for people who develop the condition and to source funding for research. CBS is extremely common and causes vivid, silent, visual hallucinations in people with varying degrees of sight loss but is not a mental health condition. Previously, mis-diagnosed all too often, CBS is now recognised as a condition in its own right, with the UK leading the way in CBS research.
