Headquartered in Bradford’s Little Germany, The Medicines Management Team (TMMT) comprises of 150+ clinical pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, as well as two training suites in Bradford and Cleckheaton, respectively. Utilising this network, the company supports the primary care industry through the provision of managed pharmacist and pharmacy technician services. These offerings have led to TMMT being recognised with this title for Excellence in Primary Care Pharmacy Services 2025 – UK, and we caught up with Mohammed Abdul Rashad for more.
Delivering a helping hand to the UK’s primary care industry, TMMT currently supports over 80+ primary care networks (PCNs) and more than 250+ GP surgeries across the UK. To date, in excess of 320 practices having directly benefited from the 150,000+ hours of clinical pharmacist services its team have delivered, with the exceptional nature of these solutions helping to alleviate some of the pressure that the primary care space is currently under.
The company’s ultimate goal is to empower both pharmacists and primary technicians alike, affording them all of the tools they need to holistically support the NHS in the long term. Be it through the optimisation of medication, the improvement of patient outcomes, or the reduction of administrative burdens, Britain’s National Health Service benefits immeasurably from the services of the highly trained, ARRS-funded pharmacists delivered by TMMT.
As the company’s own Mohammed Abdul Rashad told us: “By partnering with GP practices, federations, and PCNs, we deliver tailored, efficient, and innovative solutions that support healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality care, while fostering the growth and development of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to meet the demands of primary care.”
TMMT is anchored to the core values of teamwork, staff happiness, a strong work ethic, accountability, and a pledge to create win-win situations. On the back of its commitment to these areas, the company has created a culture where learning is key. TMMT reinvests a lot of its profits into the training and professional development of its pharmacist and pharmacy technicians, as well as the overall growth of the company and ensuring fair pay. Staff are also paid well for their work, without impacting the cost-effectiveness of the service they provide.
“We are very cost effective for the NHS and feel our product offers great value. We ensure that the work completed is of a high standard, as well as that workflows are reduced in the long term. Our focus is also strongly on efficiency, something that is sometimes missed when staff are recruited directly by GP practices or a PCN.”
Just one testimonial corroborating the excellence displayed by TMMT at every turn comes from Dr Sarwar, a clinical Director that is proud to partner with the company. Dr Sawar stated: “As a practice, we feel pharmacists from The Medicines Management Team make a significant impact in reducing GP workload, whilst maintaining excellent care to our patients and improving prescription management related workflow. The Medicines Management Team has been outstanding with their clinical pharmacist support to our practice.”
Given some of the recent changes experienced by the NHS – including the scrapping of some elements of the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and the renewed focus on cardiovascular disease (CVD) prevention – the services that the team here provide are more sought after than ever. TMMT is dedicated to evolving alongside the NHS, adapting its services and training to continue to raise the bar when it comes to ARRS support.
Initiatives such as those discussed above are also helping TMMT work towards its plan for the next five years or so – to become a leading provider of training and development in the field of primary care for both pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. As it works towards this, the team are equally committed to supporting the transitions of pharmacists from other sectors of care – such as community pharmacy or those working in hospitals – equipping them with the skills, training, and support they need to thrive in this dynamic sphere.
All of this positions The Medicines Management Team as a beacon of support in the clinical pharmacist landscape, making the company fitting of this award and a place in this feature. Reflecting on this achievement, Mohammed signed off by saying: “If you are looking for a stress-free managed service where your workloads are managed, your targets set, and your KPIs met, then contact us for an alternative solution to recruiting direct.”
