SiS LONDON

SiS – the leading Women’s Health platform facilitating impact in women’s health innovation – has announced its inaugural event, SiS: London, taking place this autumn. Designed to help spur learning, growth and connections across the sector, the event will bring together both Women’s Health founders and funders to fuel positive change.

Taking place at Notting Hill’s Electric Cinema on 9 October, the day is set to facilitate opportunities for current and future Women’s Health experts. The event will focus on four different business growth areas – from Seed and Growth; to Expansion and M&A – with multiple opportunities for guests to network with leading innovators, listen to engaging panel discussions, and even enjoy an evening party.

These panels will feature leading experts in their fields, with speakers including Hannah Samano, founder and CEO of Unfabled; Dierde O’Neill, co-founder of Hertility; Raymon uit de Bulten, Director at Philips; Shobhna Ladva, Head of Women’s Health UK at Bayer; Peony Li, founder of Jude; and Valentina Milanova, Founder and CEO of Daye.

Added to this, the event will also feature SiS: Solve powered by Barclays, a pitch showcase from eight entrepreneurs, explaining how their innovations address the unmet needs in women’s health; the use of an exclusive app that facilitates networking, allowing attendees to book meetings with one another and set plans for future innovations; and a Lunch and Learn with Rachel Murphy, founder of The Grafter, going through her journey from concept to exit.

Supported by a number of partners including Merck, Goodwin, Ferring, Sagentia Innovation and Myth Digital, SiS is driving the first event of its kind, with an anticipated second event in New York next spring.

Sufanah Hamza, Program and Content Lead, shares her excitement ahead of the event, commenting:

With such a rich assortment of speakers from across the industry, we’re beyond delighted to premiere our game-changing event in London this October. We’ve worked with Women’s Health innovators to design a programme that is truly reflective of what they feel is lacking for the industry at the moment; packed full of advice, opportunities, and insights that will help move the dial for them for the businesses they are building and scaling today.

“We’re not the only Women’s Health event within the country, but we’re priding ourselves on being the one that is wholly focused on the now: focusing on creating opportunities for innovative founders to find new connections, funding and partnerships within the industry.; rather than looking at what we hope will exist one day. There is often a tendency to think about ‘innovation’ as being about the future, instead of shining a light on the amazing tech that is already in development now. SiS: London exists to ensure the promising future of Women’s Health by offering insights into the current innovations, allowing future or starting founders a road map for their own journey.”

Closing the gap in women’s health is estimated to boost the global economy by 1 trillion USD by 2040, with innovations in the sector creating endless possibilities for supporting women around the world, allowing economies to succeed and making equal health accessible for all.

Reflecting on this, SiS: London intends to be a forum for all those inspired by those who have begun leading the way for the growth of the Women’s Health industry and are looking for ways to seek more equitable investment opportunities.

With insights including how to enter the market, how to make your startup more investable and how to adapt your risk-register to appeal to your board, Women’s Health experts can expect to leave SiS: London enlightened and emboldened in their journey into and through the market.

Sufanah adds her insights and expands on the role SiS: London will play in this growth, commenting:

Women’s Health innovation, and focus on the market, is beginning to gain traction in a way we’ve never seen before, and SiS wants to help facilitate this growth by giving innovators and investors opportunities to maintain – and boost – this momentum.

“Solutions for women’s health have seen a growth of 544% in the UK, so there’s no better place to host our first event than London. With the opportunity to showcase some amazing companies and innovations with our SiS: Solve Pitches powered by Barclays, we wish to see the event give a boost to the industry by creating new opportunities for founders to connect and grow.”
