16 GHP / Q4 2020 , Jun20210 Dr CP Aesthetics is a clinic based inNottinghamshire which offers a range of cosmetic treatments such as skin rejuvenation, injections and fillers, andminor surgical procedures. With a strong focus on patient care, we speak to the clinic’s founder to find out more about one of the best aesthetic practitioners in the East Midlands today. Redefining Beauty Founded by its namesake, Dr Claudia Petillon, Dr CP Aesthetics is dedicated to ensuring complete patient satisfaction and a welcoming, relaxed and professional approach is what can be expected upon visiting the clinic. With more than 20 years’ experience as a doctor, and specialising in dermatology and paediatrics, Dr Claudia has always had an interest in dermatology and skin surgery. She still works as a general practitioner one day a week to maintain her medical knowledge. “There is increasing pressure on us these days to appear ‘ageless’ and conform to celebrity ideals and this, in turn, can lead to confidence issues, which I all too often see as a doctor,” she explains, telling us the rationale behind the inception of the clinic. “I truly believe in a ‘less is more’ philosophy and want to work with my patients to achieve a more youthful version of themselves, whilst retaining their full range of expression and not giving them a mask-like look. Additionally, I want people’s friends to comment on how well they are looking but not be able to tell that they have had a cosmetic treatment!” Recent guidelines produced by the GMC have tightened the provision of cosmetic treatments and Dr Claudia agrees that botulinum toxin and dermal fillers should be regarded as a medical procedure. As such, treatment should only be administered by an individual qualified to do so, with a thorough understanding of facial anatomy. Therefore, when you visit Dr CP Aesthetics all aspects of care, namely assessment, prescription, treatment and aftercare, are undertaken personally by Dr Claudia herself, so you are in the best possible hands. In fact, her founding mission is patient focused care and she won’t offer any treatments or procedures that she would not happily have undertaken on herself. “These treatments can be dangerous with significant complications,” she continues. “There are many practitioners out there who can cut costs because they use fillers and consumables which are cheaper. In the end you pay for what you get, and I believe in only giving the best to my patients. “Medical aesthetics is science as well as an art and I truly believe it goes hand-in-hand with the overall medical care of the patient As a medically trained doctor, I have an in depth understanding and I aim to use of these skills in caring for my patients.” The recent Covid-19 pandemic posed a significant challenge to the medical aesthetics sector, as it did with many industries right across the board. Dr Claudia tells us that her already sterling safety protocols had to be further enhanced and tightened but, as is her mantra, the safety and satisfaction of her patients is of paramount importance. Dr Claudia has now passed all the stringent measures to become CQC registered, a marker of quality and safety held by hospitals and GP surgeries. This registration allows her to expand the type of treatments that can be offered at the clinic. “Ultimately, my aim is to be able to address all of my patient’s aesthetic concerns, as well as being able to undertake minor surgical procedures.” Contact: Dr Claudia Petillon Web Address: www.drcp-aesthetics.com
