We heard more from creator, Theary Ros, as we shine a spotlight on MedNurse’s success in the Global Excellence Awards 2026. In complex clinical environments, the margin for error is razor-thin. Every shift presents healthcare professionals with demanding decisions under intense time pressure, where access to accurate, instantaneous information can alter patient outcomes. Among the critical challenges facing modern healthcare systems, medication safety stands at the forefront. Estimates indicate that medication errors contribute to between 44,000 and 98,000 deaths globally every year. Crucially, these incidents rarely stem from a lack of clinical competence or dedication. Instead, they are predominantly systemic - occurring when clinicians are overwhelmed, underresourced, and forced to navigate overly complex information tools at the moment of care. MedNurse was engineered specifically to solve this issue. Designed from the ground up as a clinical medication safety platform for nursing professionals, MedNurse delivers immediate access to comprehensive medication databases, dynamic dosage calculators, step-by-step administration guides, high-alert reference materials, and real-time safety alerts. By eliminating unnecessary friction - such as mandatory log-ins and complex submenus - the platform provides immediate clarity when clinicians need it most. The foundation of MedNurse rests on direct clinical experience rather than external administrative theory. The platform was created by emergency room nurse Theary Ros, who witnessed firsthand the structural vulnerabilities that lead to clinical errors. “I started MedNurse because I experienced the problem firsthand,” he explained. “As an emergency room nurse, I watched colleagues make errors that had nothing to do with incompetence. They happened because the right information simply was not there at the right moment. That is what MedNurse was built to fix.” Unlike traditional health-technology solutions designed primarily to meet administrative requirements or procurement specifications, MedNurse was created from an operational bedside perspective. Ros prioritised the immediate, practical needs of the clinician working directly with the patient. “The honest answer is that MedNurse was built from the inside out,” continued Theary. “I did not hire a development team and then bring in clinical consultants to review the output. I built it as a nurse, with nurses, for nurses. That is a different starting point from almost every other tool in this space, and it changes everything. Other platforms are often built for administrators or procurement teams. They are impressive in a demo and frustrating at the bedside. MedNurse works the other way around. Product development is guided entirely by continuous feedback from practising clinicians, ensuring features address true operational friction points. “Respect means we listen before we build. I have never assumed I know what nurses need. I talk to nurses. The team talks to nurses. Our roadmap comes from nurses. The fact that nurses print our guides and tape them to med carts, or keep MedNurse open on their phones through an entire shift, tells me our values are working.
