When developing a radiopharmaceutical, an early hurdle is always securing an accessible supply of radionuclides and tying in the physical logistics of working with materials that have a short half-life, so we’ve spent over a decade securing a comprehensive portfolio of radionuclide supply chains and building the extensive network of facilities and partnerships required to move a programme from in vitro cancer candidate to IND-ready radiopharmaceutical.” The organisation’s pharmacology capabilities in endometriosis have also seen a large amount of interest from clients. Endometriosis is a painful condition that causes tissue similar to that which lines the uterus to grow in other parts of the body, and although it is a widespread disease, it has long been underrepresented. As a CRO, that might mean saying ‘no’ if you’re not the best fit or offering insight if we see potential flaws or opportunities in an experimental plan. Sometimes a well-designed study yields unexpected results, and being proactive during the process can make the difference between a failed study and insightful data.” Also worth noting is how Oncodesign Services is proud to have recently achieved reaccreditation with AAALAC (American Association for Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care).
