GHP Q2 2021
GHP / Q2 2021 45 , Dec20598 Making a decision about care later on in life isn’t always an easy choice. However, Devon- based Simply Caring aims to ensure that patients can continue to live a full and happy life in their own homes. We find out more about the company in the wake of it being awarded Best Personal Homecare Service Provider – SouthWest England. Care Made Simple Based in Ivybridge, Devon, Simply Caring is a complete homecare service offering care to people of all ages who wish to live independently in the comfort of their own homes, whether elderly, frail, isolated, or suffering from dementia or a terminal illness. Being a professional organisation, clients can be assured of an efficient, reliable and caring service from Simply Caring, with every client known personally and every member of staff committed to their role of improving the quality of life of the clients while they remain in their own familiar surroundings. Services offered can be both temporary or long term, depending on a patient’s specific needs, and they are very varied too; ranging from personal care and meal preparation, to night watches, assisted shopping and rehabilitation. At Simply Caring, the aim of each and every team member is the same: to provide a consistently high-quality service that is provided in a safe manner and delivered with dignity and respect. The company is committed to service improvements and endeavours to ensure this happens by following a strict quality assurance system. The dedicated team at Simply Caring go above and beyond to ensure that, whatever aspect of care you require, you are provided with highly qualified, well trained and efficient staff to meet those needs. Simply Caring’s recruitment policy is very thorough to ensure that the right people are employed. This policy includes every member of staff being carefully selected and qualifications and verifying that their references are thoroughly checked before they are considered for a role. It also includes each member of the team undergoing an enhanced CRB check before they are employed by the company. As part of their onboarding, each member of the team undergoes induction training to ensure that all staff have the necessary skills required to become a highly qualified carer. Each carer is encouraged to complete a relevant NVQ in Care as a first step towards their Continual Professional Development (CPD). As part of this process, all members of the team participate in regular training to stay up to date with current safe practice, thus continually maintaining the company’s high standards of care. Simply Caring also participates in the Devon “Take a Break” Scheme which offers a sitting service to allow carers and relatives the opportunity to take a well-earned rest. After an initial enquiry, Simply Caring’s Senior Carer will make a visit to you in your own home to discuss and agree between you a package of care based upon your individual needs and requirements. This allows for the care team and client to work together to create a customised care plan that meets the needs of the client. Once an assessment has been carried out and agreed, a start date will be arranged, at which point a carer who is familiar with the individual package of care is assigned. At this time, clients have the opportunity to get to know their Carer personally and form a professional relationship. Thanks to this simple but comprehensive and client-centric approach to making significant decisions about care and support for oneself or their loved ones, Simply Caring has become a highly-valued asset to vulnerable individuals in and around Devon. It has also earnt the company praise and recognition, such as its most recent accolade at the Social Care Awards 2021. Web Address: www.SimplyCaring.net
