Mental Health Awards 2025

17 GHP Mental Health Awards 2025 pecialising in interventions to meet individual needs and occupational therapy services for young children from birth right up to young adult-age, Achieve Occupational Therapy works independently to treat children and help them manage such conditions as cerebral palsy, Autism Spectrum Disorder, brain injuries, multi-sensory impairments, and any other genetic or acquired development-impacting circumstances. As the company’s director, Claire Ginty works closely with NHS, local education authorities, social services, and more to deliver the best possible support. An independent consultant specialist and occupational therapist knowledgeable with both mental and physical health conditions, Claire’s qualifications include a master’s degree in attachment studies and certifications up to the advanced level of both the Bobath concept and sensory integration therapy. These credentials are underpinned by international experience, given Claire worked both across the UK and even spent a period volunteering in Romania, supporting young people with disabilities. The time that Claire spent volunteering in Romania saw her use both the attachment and SOS feeding approaches to help children develop their feeding skills and support the community, with Claire having often returned the country since 2018 to continue her efforts. Even when she is back home in the East of England, the close ties she has with both the Libra Foundation and the University of Vasile Alecsandri of Bacau’s Faculty of Movement, Sports, and Health Sciences ensures she continues to have a lasting impact. Before going independent and establishing Achieve Occupational Therapy, Claire worked for the NHS as an integrated health, social care, and education occupational therapist. During her tenure with the NHS, Claire was nominated eight times as an NHS Hero by the children she worked with and their families, a record at the time. The acclaim Claire received did not end there, with her also developing and implementing an educational moving and handling service around this time, which is today used nationally. As for her work with Achieve Occupational Therapy, Claire and her team of occupational therapy assistants and associate occupational therapists deliver holistic support to both the children they work with and their families. Claire explains to us the importance of exceptional communication in this role, especially when it comes to discussing both therapies and self-regulation, as well as remaining respectful and compassionate at every turn. The result, Claire explains, is that trusted relationships are built time and again. Achieve Occupational Therapy therefore becomes a partner on every child’s journey, supporting their learning and Claire Ginty established Achieve Occupational Therapy Ltd, a friendly and independent occupational therapy practice, in 2015. An expert occupational therapist registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) as well as the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT), Claire leads her company with more than 20 years of experience and an unbridled passion for the life-changing work she does every day. On the back of her company’s recognition with these two awards, we had the opportunity to catch up with Claire to learn more. Best Nationwide Holistic Therapeutic Intervention Company 2025 – East of England & GHP Client Care Excellence Award 2025 development whilst remaining filled with empathy, in possession of a deep understanding of any trauma, and fiercely committed to helping these individuals fulfil their ultimate potential, regardless of how challenging their specific circumstances may be. Finally, given the nature of her work, Claire tells us of the unfortunate increase she has experienced in childhood mental health concerns on the back of lockdowns, especially when it comes to teenage girls and other groups attending school. Hoping to help put an end to this, Achieve Occupational Therapy is proud to offer six hours of totally free occupational therapy to schools per academic year. This can be used any way they choose, in the form of training sessions or physical assessments, for example. Just as all of the above demonstrates, Claire Ginty remains deeply dedicated to the work she does in this space, even after more than 15 years. Whether for attachment, trauma, sensory, or physical needs, Claire and the team at Achieve Occupational Therapy have the tools to help. Excitingly, over the coming months, the company has initiatives in place to expand its reach even further, such as working in more EU countries to provide a blended occupational therapy programme and even assisting companies and charities in Dubai and Africa. Recognised here as the Best Nationwide Holistic Therapeutic Intervention Company 2025 – East of England and with a GHP Client Care Excellence Award 2025, we wish Achieve Occupational Therapy Ltd all the best for the rest of the year and beyond.
