Blue Stone Medical & Professional (Blue Stone) is a registered training organisation in Queensland, Australia, with 22 locations from the Gold Coast to Central Queensland including Rockhampton. Providing a wide range of certification programmes in the health industry, Blue Stone’s services are designed to assist students with the knowledge, training and skill necessary for gaining health related employment outcomes. The organisation is fully accredited and qualified for all training programmes, including aged care, disabilities, dental, first aid, police checks, pathology services and much more. “We pride ourselves on creating a positive learning environment and work closely with our students throughout the entire training program they are enrolled into,” explains Director Nicole Hood. “Students reach out to our Registered Training Organisation as we go above and beyond with their learning experience.” Staying up to date with emerging trends and new technologies is, of course, imperative in the healthcare and education sector and Blue Stone has Accredited Jul21608 Trainers who still work in the industry to gain valuable experience and keep abreast of the necessary changes to the areas of aged care, disabilities, pathology and dental. “We regularly liaise with the industry stakeholders to keep current with all practical skills assessment and are always attending professional development training for our trainers to have yearly updates on their skills.” Students not only get first-class training at Blue Stone, but also get personal support too as the organisation provides this on an individual basis and has done throughout the pandemic. This has been especially important where mental health issues are concerned, and Blue Stone has focused its efforts on mentoring students in order to assist them gaining the confidence to achieve a job outcome in the health sector. “The impact of Covid has impacted our delivery of training but we have been able to open up more clinic-simulated training rooms to allow our students to continue with their studies but also gain more practical skills in our health hubs prior to placement,” Nicole elaborates. “We have rolled out vaccination options for our students and they have gained more knowledge and confidence during this pandemic.” Blue Stone’s success rate is impressive. It has recently secured five new contracts with Skilling Queenslanders for Work and it currently boasts an 85% job outcome for students that are currently studying with its Registered Training Organisation. As well as this, the company has recently introduced art therapy classes for clients with a disability to come to class to gain social skills, confidence, interaction with other people and learn a new skill in painting, drawing, beading, mosaic artwork, pottery and much more. For its dedication and diligence, Blue Stone was recently Best Healthcare Training Organisation - Queensland awarded the prestigious title of Best Healthcare Training Organisation – Queensland, and it seems that the future is looking exceedingly bright, as Nicole tells us about new developments on the horizon. “We have been successful in looking at expanding our business to Far North Queensland and Cairns, as well as the surrounding regional areas, to roll out training in the schools so the students can commence their career pathway in health from school.
