Following the firm’s well-deserved success in the Healthcare & Pharmaceutical Awards 2020, we caught up with Jane Kraushaar to find out more. Whatever your feet feel or look like, New Milton Foot Clinic is happy to help, providing a range of treatments and an outstanding service. Going into further detail, Jane begins by providing us with a brief overview of the firm and offers more insight into some of its specialisms. “All credit must be given to the founder, Amanda, and to her successor Helen for developing the business. Having bought the business myself in 2012, it has increased by 75% in that time. Through an holistic approach , we look after our patients and deliver high-quality medical treatments, advice, health education and on- going care.” In the Hampshire region, the firm regularly come up against a number of competitors who can offer similar services. However, as Jane goes on to explain, to differentiate themselves from its closest rivals it has a unique selling point in this regard. “Collectively, we pride ourselves on our customer service and going that extra mile to ensure that patients have the best outcomes.” Despite the academic achievements of its staff members, regular training plays an important role in the firm remaining at the forefront of emerging industry developments as Jane points out. “On a regular basis we undertake Continuing Professional Development (CPD). All our clinical staff hold the BSc (Hons) Podiatry Degree, have worked in the NHS, and are registered with the Health & Care Professions Council. By constantly reviewing working practices, we ensure that the highest standards are maintained.” The outbreak of COVID-19 earlier this year had a huge impact on the healthcare industry and still today we are not out of the woods. However, despite the pandemic, the clinic has still been able to thrive during these uncertain times. “Fortunately, we have an incredible team who are always positive and willing to go above and beyond. During the lockdown, we diverted the clinic phone to a mobile so that we could be on-standby for our patients as well as our local GP’s. By adapting to the situation, we gained a significant number of new customers who had simply been unable to reach or contact anyone for advice. Additionally, we were also able to assist our GPs when they had patients to refer for an emergency appointment. Having to distance between patients has also had a financial impact with supplier costs rocketing and some PPE increasing by 400%.” Finally, Jane discusses some of the firm’s biggest achievements before commenting on its future prospects as we look ahead to 2021 and beyond. “Recently, we have invested in new technology, such as the Swift Microwave Therapy NewMilton Foot Clinic Contact Details: Company: New Milton Foot Clinic Contact: Jane Kraushaar Website: www.newmiltonfootclinic.co.uk Treatment for verrucae and expanded our additional services for nail reconstruction, warm wax therapy and are in the process of introducing a 3D scanning system for custom orthotics. “Despite these difficult times we have remained positive and progressive throughout, believing our business, staff and patients are the key to maintaining and growing our business. At the present time, our website is being re-designed to be more informative and professional. Since we re-opened on 15th June, we have had more than 226 new patients register with us. Myself, Lauren, and the customer service team have been working many additional hours to accommodate as many customers as we can. “Currently, we are actively recruiting and seeking another podiatrist to work in our very busy clinic. With another clinic in Cadnam (Forest Foot & Health Clinic), we are equally busy here and seeking to recruit additional staff. Moving forward, our sound relationship with our local GP surgeries will be essential as we look to maintain a multi- disciplinary approach for the benefit of our patients.” Photograph was taken before COVID19.
