GHP / 2020 Healthcare & Pharmaceutical Awards 67 , Best ABA Services Provider - Florida Located in Florida, Camen Behavioral Services, LLC is an Applied Behavior Analysis agency. Following the firm’s well-deserved success in the Healthcare & Pharmaceutical Awards 2020, we touched base with CEO Claire Lottman to find out more. Established in 2015, Camen Behavioral Services LLC has provided personalized, high- quality behavior analysis services since the beginning. Going into further detail, Claire begins by providing us with a brief overview of the firm and offers more insight into some of its specialties. “Consisting of Master’s level Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA’s), Bachelor’s Level Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBA’s), and highly skilled Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT’s), Camen Behavioral Services provides behavioral therapy (ABA) to families of children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and various other developmental disabilities. These services are provided by trained therapists in the home, clinic, community, and school-based settings. “Naturally, our overall mission is to provide these necessary services with compassion. While understanding the stressors of family life, especially when a child may have multiple cognitive, medical, or behavioral needs, we want to provide therapeutic services that benefit the family as a whole and positively impact the child’s overall quality of life. To ensure we are providing services based on our mission of compassion, we take great pride in our team-based approach to treatment plan development and ensure many training opportunities are available for our therapists. Behavior analysts use peer-reviewed, research- driven interventions to support Sep20025 a child’s behavioral needs. With each individualized treatment plan, we ensure we are working on goals that are important to the family at that time and train our interventions to the family and share graphic displays and analysis of progress routinely.” Operating in the US healthcare industry brings fierce competition to the table for Camen Behavioral Services, however as Claire explains further, through a commitment to research and education the firm has been able to easily distinguish themselves from their closest rivals. “To remain at the forefront of the industry we have stayed up to date with the newest research in our field by attending state conferences and lectures, providing research opportunities to our therapists, hosting continued education seminars to our employees, and continuously seeking ways to ensure our company is growing more efficient.” The outbreak of COVID-19 earlier this year has resulted in 2020 being a very difficult and challenging year for all concerned in the healthcare industry. However, as Claire goes on to explain, through a commitment to innovation the team has still been able to prosper during these uncertain times. “Over the past few months, we have been working hard on projects to overcome the challenges of COVID-19, incorporating telehealth client sessions, parent training, remote supervision, as well as, learning new ways to support children that are not able to Camen Behavioral Services, LLC receive face-to-face learning at their school and having to navigate Virtual ESE programs in the comforts of their home. Therapists are working closely with virtual teachers and parents on how to implement strategies for breaks and tolerance training of computer-based academics.” Finally, Claire discusses some of the team’s biggest achievements before commenting on the future prospects of Camen Behavioral, LLC. Given that our mission is to provide ABA services with compassion, our most significant breakthrough has been how we navigated the challenges of COVID-19. As the pandemic affected Central Florida and Stay-at-Home mandates were issued across the State, the families we serve were faced with many stressors from job layoffs, working from home, financial stressors, kids being transitioned to virtual school without warning, drastic changes in their routines, and the overall threat of the health and safety of their loved ones. In response, we developed emergency health and safety precautions, trained our entire staff in the safety measures we were putting into place, and kept our doors open. Identifying ourselves as an essential business, we wanted to ensure that the children’s therapeutic progress was not impacted during such an unprecedented time. When speaking to other therapy providers and hearing accounts from parents, it appeared as though almost all of the therapy services in the area were also closing down for unknown amounts of time. Camen Behavioral Services remained one of the very few Central Florida ABA companies to continue providing services in the home and clinic settings. By making changes to the flow of traffic, number of clients seen in a day, length of sessions, types of materials used and the cleaning regimen, our families were grateful that their child continued to have consistent services and progress was still able to be made during such a time of need. “Looking ahead, we will strive to continue to grow our Camen community in the number of therapists employed and the clients served, while maintaining the same high level of compassion and ABA procedural integrity and ethics.” Company: Camen Behavioral Services, LLC Contact: Claire Lottman, MS, BCBA Website: www.camenbehavioral.com
