62 GHP / 2020 Healthcare & Pharmaceutical Awards , Aug20607 Best Independent Dental Practice 2020 – Surrey &GHP Award for Excellence in Cross Infection Control Procedures 2020 Based inHindhead, Surrey, No5 Dental Care has been operating for over 40 years providing dental treatment and specialist services to all the family. Following the firm’s well-deserved success in theHealthcare &Pharmaceutical Awards 2020, we got in touchwith Emma Clayton- Jones to find outmore. Through its experienced and dedicated team, No5 Dental Care is committed to making your dental visit as relaxing and comfortable as possible. To begin, Emma provides a brief overview of the firm and offers more insight into some of its specialisms. “At No5 Dental Care, we aim to provide the best possible care for our patients throughout their patient experience, from initial consultation through to treatment and post treatment care. In a safe, secure, friendly, and supportive environment we utilise the latest technology to conduct all types of dental work including orthodontics, endodontics, implants, and hygiene.” Collectively, No5 Dental Care aim to excel in everything they do, differentiating themselves through attention to detail. Moreover, as Emma goes on to explain, this has been further reflected in the feedback received from its patients. “The best way to assess how we are different to our competitors is by listening to our patients. Many of our patient reviews commend us in widely different ways as no two patients are the same. It could be to do with how we have dealt with their nervousness, our COVID protocols, the friendly and professional way they have been treated or sometimes it will be less specific and about the general positive feeling the visit has given them. Many patients comment on the great atmosphere in the practice and this is largely down to curating a great team that complement each other and work so well together.” The outbreak of COVID-19 has presented a real challenge to the dental industry, but by examining every aspect of the business, the practice has been able to succeed during these uncertain times as Emma explains further. “Due to COVID-19 many practices have had to hire more staff to satisfy the additional protocols, and the number of patients that can be seen has gone down due to the additional space and fallow times required. This has inevitably squeezed profit margins and many practices are struggling as a result. However, without sacrificing on quality of care, we are very proud to say that any extra costs to the patients have been very minimal indeed. The pandemic has clearly put a lot of stress on our staff, but we have tried to be as supportive and flexible as possible to ensure our staff’s wellbeing is maintained. “Currently, PPE has a major role to play in the fight against COVID-19. Despite the importance of it, the firm’s efforts to reduce plastic consumption have stalled somewhat. However, as Emma confirms, the team are working around this problem in the best way it can. “Last year we worked hard to reduce our plastic consumption. However, with the current PPE requirements it is extremely hard to keep to the targets we had set. Although we are trying by using washable PPE where possible.” Finally, Emma discusses some of the firm’s most significant breakthroughs before commenting on the future prospects of No5 Dental Care. “Recently, we have taken on two dental therapists to provide not only hygiene but also fillings for our patients, freeing up dentists for specialised restorative treatment. The therapists can also provide essential preventative advice, so patients have control over their future dental health. The number of patients being referred to us by family, friends and by other practices is climbing every day. The feedback from our patients is incredibly positive and this further drives us to keep on improving. The success leads to a happy and motivated team who can see their efforts are recognised and appreciated. “Moving forward, the aim is to create a healthy and great workspace for all the team with a good work/ life balance which enables us to provide the same level of patient care and expertise that we have achieved over the years. With a growing team, next year will be very exciting!” No5 Dental Care Contact Details: Company: No5 Dental Care Contact: Emma Clayton-Jones Web: www.5dental.co.uk
