He uses a range of technology-assisted approaches to deliver optimised and patient-specific outcomes including image-derived and imageless navigation, robot assisted surgery and advanced three-dimensional pre-operative templating. Looking to the future, Kurmis Orthopaedics will be working to overcome these challenges and continue to innovate in the orthopaedic sector in order to enhance its already exceptional care and treatment selection for patients. Professor Kurmis’ 3D pre-operative hip planning project with one of the major leaders in implant design promises to be one of the very exciting advancements ahead, as is his work with international centres of excellence to instigate a global screening tool for genetic susceptibility to adverse reactions to implant-generated metal debris that could offer enduring benefits to joint replacement patients across the planet and contribute to a lasting legacy of innovation for Kurmis Orthopaedics.
