GHP Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Awards 2025 “All of this shows our ongoing commitment to evidencebased practice and continuous improvement.” As part of its ongoing quest to provide the best quality of care across South East England, Comfort Care has executed a number of successful projects, including the Medication Synchronisation Project. Partnering with GPs and local pharmacists, this initiative has made medication management safer and more efficient for its staff and service users alike. Another fitting example saw the company train ‘Falls Champions’ in collaboration with the NHS, helping to reduce the number of falls that happen during its care. “We have also introduced champions programmes to boost expertise in key areas such as medication, diabetes, and oral care”, added Mr Sattar. “As well as this, we recently launched our own certified training academy and have already begun our first Level 3 diploma cohort, helping build a highly skilled workforce across the industry.” However, by far the most impressive undertaking Comfort Care has been on over the past several years is Project 1000, which reflects the measurable, lasting changes it is making in the lives of those who need support. The aim was simple: to transform the lives of 1,000 people – service users and staff – which the company did in record time. Project 2000 is the next milestone, with the aim of helping people to make the leap from crisis to stability and from dependence to independence, reflecting its overarching intention. Crucial in achieving this goal will be the staff, a team whose services are more sought after than ever thanks to increased demand, costof-living issues, and the complexity of modern care. Recognising how challenging this environment can be, Comfort Care makes a conscious effort to invest in staff development and create a positive working culture – one where people feel valued and supported – as this directly impacts the care they provide. “We make it a point to recognise success across all levels”, Mr Sattar told us. “Our ‘Care in Action’ awards celebrate serviceuser milestones, whilst our monthly ‘Staff of the Month’ and ‘Management Excellence’ awards acknowledge the hard work and commitment of our team.” He continued: “We have even developed a leadership framework that ensures accountability and consistent support through every layer of our organisation, starting from me, our CEO, and trickling down to our frontline support staff.” “Our staff go above and beyond to provide not just care, but hope, dignity, and empowerment.” Ultimately, whether through its supported living services, specialist care provisions, or any of the other solutions afforded by Comfort Care, the company delivers compassionate and effective care and has done now for 40 years. Its refusal to let up, even going from strength to strength as a result of partnerships and technology, makes Comfort Care Services (UK) Ltd a fitting recipient of our Social Care Excellence Award 2025 – Berkshire.
