This applies in particular to the introduction of digital recording procedures, the provision of the most modern ultrasound, CT and MRI devices, and the increasing digital networking for the timely transmission of findings and images. “In order to continuously meet this requirement, we maintain close cooperation with the industry’s development departments,” Prof Vogl elaborates. “On the one hand, this requires constant updating of our knowledge and skills and, on the other hand, it offers our clinical partners the latest state-of-the-art radiological technology in daily patient care.” Speaking of patient care, the institute places the welfare of its clients extremely highly, treating them with the utmost of respect and at all times. “We consider friendly contact and considerate treatment of our patients to be an important feature of our work,” continues Prof Vogl. “During the radiological examination and diagnosis, it is particularly important to us that the process runs smoothly and quickly in the interests of the patient.” In fact, the radiology team is constantly striving to further reduce the already minimal exposure to radiation using the latest technologies. Procedures using modern ultrasound and magnetic resonance tomography techniques do not cause any radiation exposure, meaning they are a much safer option for patients. Regarding scientific research and teaching as a central university task of a radiology department, continuous training and further education is provided to staff members to further develop their extensive specialist knowledge and the core competence of the institute’s work at a high level.
