104 GHP Healthcare & Pharma Awards 2023 Committed to educating, empathising with, and empowering women to navigate menopause at home and at work, The Menopause Hub is geared to helping women continue to live the life they love.We find out more from Loretta Dignam, the firm’s CEO, as it celebrates success in the Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Awards 2023. GHP Excellence Award for Workplace Menopause Training & Education Services 2023 - ROI he Menopause Hub is a centre of excellence for all things menopause, offering evidenced-based clinical care for those experiencing symptoms of all types. It is estimated that 80% of menopausal women experience symptoms that impact them personally and professionally, therefore the Menopause Hub Academy focuses on menopause in the workplace and provides CPD-accredited menopause training programmes to employers. These training modules are hybrid, live, and e-learning, and are aimed at four distinct audiences – all colleagues, line managers and supervisors, HR , and Menopause Champions. Proud to work with a huge array of clients, including public and private businesses, large and small employers, and for-profit and not-for-profit organisations, The Menopause Hub has some big names under its belt, such as Lidl Ireland, Accenture, Bank of Ireland, University College Dublin (UCD), Kellogg’s, Wates Group, and many more. “We help organisations to create a diverse and inclusive workplace, where menopausal women feel supported, helping employers retain more talent and avoid legislative risk,” explains Loretta Dignam, the firm’s Founder and CEO. “The economic impact of menopause in the workplace can be significant, yet the modest investment in menopause education and training pays for itself quickly.” Loretta is a passionate menopause advocate. She is firmly focused on smashing the menopause taboo and enhancing the lives of menopausal women so that they can continue to live the life they love, at home and at work. Within The Menopause Hub, Loretta has instilled three core values. These being education, empathy, and empowerment, and she has worked hard to successfully build a trusted and credible brand. In fact, the firm was the first in Ireland to recognise the need to provide support to women through its clinics, and it is also the only provider of CPDaccredited menopause training for the workplace, as well as the only provider of e-learning training solutions. “We have also launched the inaugural Menopause Workplace Excellence awards,” Loretta elaborates. “We have given menopausal women a voice and we champion and advocate for awareness, support, and services so that they need never suffer in silence again, unlike previous generations. “We vow that our daughters will have a very different menopause experience than we have had!” Huge developments have been taking place this year, including The Menopause Workplace Excellence awards being launched, with the winners being announced on 12th October 2023, in time for World Menopause Day. This exciting development actively recognises those employers that are menopause friendly with the aim that it will encourage others to follow suit. Furthermore, the firm will launch its menopause accreditation service in October 2023, which will enable those employers who are menopause supporters to wear their Menopause Excellence badge with honour. This will ensure that menopause support becomes part of the cultural DNA of the organisation, rather than just a one-off event. To add to all the excitement, The Menopause Hub is opening its third menopause clinic in the Southeast of Ireland, Cork, in October 2023 and will continue to expand nationwide. Finally, it will also release the results of its annual Menopause Survey in October 2023, which gives a ‘state of the nation’ view of attitudes and behaviours towards menopause, including in the workplace. But perhaps the company’s most significant breakthrough is that it is, quite clearly, smashing the menopause taboo! “We have been championing menopause for four years now, with government, media, healthcare professionals, and employers,” enthuses Loretta. “The Irish government has heard us! Ireland is the only country in the world to have a public awareness menopause campaign on TV, radio, print, and online. Employers have introduced menopause policies. Menopausal women now feel heard and believed. Who would have imagined that this was possible five years ago? This is a significant breakthrough! And we are at the heart of that breakthrough!” Recently, for its groundbreaking work in the arena of women’s health and livelihood, The Menopause Hub gained notable recognition in the Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Awards 2023. Now, the future beckons and Loretta and the team are poised to take the world by storm, with plans to expand the Menopause Hub Academy internationally and scaling up its menopause in the workplace edtech solution so that more employers can be educated in more countries across the globe, in order to continue to support more menopausal women at work.
