22 GHP Healthcare & Pharma Awards 2022 Improving its clients’ lives is what Griffith Counselling, Mediation & Relationship Centre does best. Be it issues surrounding divorce, grief, or mental health, the centre is equipped to provide compassionate and effective care. Life can be challenging and, at times, traumatic. Whilst it can often be difficult, there’s no shame in reaching out for help – support can make an enormous difference. Professionals can assist with finding effective coping techniques and can provide you with the skills to get your life back on track, no matter how big or small the issue may seem. Donna Piromalli of the Griffith Counselling, Mediation & Relationship Centre has been in the industry for over a decade. She specialises in Relationship Training and conflict resolution, and also supports clients that are facing depression, anxiety, trauma, panic attacks, PTSD, separation and divorce, parenting, grief and loss, self-esteem, bullying, and anger issues. Furthermore, she is a registered and accredited therapist and mediator that possesses Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner accreditations, has been approved by The National Disability Insurance Scheme, and is a Child Consultant. ‘The Counselling, Mediation & Relationship Centre contributes to transforming people through personal and professional challenges into life enhancing happiness,’ Donna explains. ‘We view all people as capable of change and can achieve harmony promoting happy healthier families and communities.’ Indeed, this is the company’s mission – it hopes to support and guide its clients through life’s toughest challenges, providing them with ways to grow and become stronger in the face of adversity. Donna treats every client with kindness and compassion, and she strives to develop an understanding of the root cause of the issue, which she then utilises to create a bespoke solution. Donna hasn’t always worked in the field, however. Prior to her career as a therapist, she worked as a hairdresser – ‘I have recently become an Author of my book called More Than Just a Hairdresser. The book is about what I know now as a therapist that I wished I would have known as a hairdresser, particularly around emotional intelligence and communication with clients, especially when clients share their emotional stories with their hairdresser. The book comes with a companion workbook (for readers to be able to work on themselves, explore parts of their life and set goals) and also a gratitude journal.’ Especially after the Covid-19 outbreak – which created a rise in cases of stress, anxiety, and depression – these tools are more important than ever before. Processing thoughts and feelings through a healthy outlet can be incredibly beneficial. The Covid-19 pandemic did, however, remove the stigma surrounding seeing a therapist as counselling has become more prevalent in society. In terms of the future, Donna comments, ‘I am studying new modalities for my clients during therapy sessions. I also have put an online course together that has eight modules. The course is called The Art of Living, which is for clients to have a platform to learn more about themselves & work towards reaching their true potential.’ Contact: Donna Piromalli Company: Griffith Counselling, Mediation & Relationship Centre Web Address: www.griffithcounselling.com Best Relationship & Family Counselling Provider 2022 - Australia Jul22161
