Laser hair removal is often sold as a finishing point, a way to permanently step away from the cycle of shaving, waxing and constant upkeep. But for millions of women navigating hormonal conditions, that promise rarely holds.

Hair growth isn’t static, it changes with the body through conditions like PCOS and life stages such as pregnancy. It often comes back just when it feels under control. Founder of Laser Me Out, Shireen Forster, knows this cycle better than most.

Diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) at just 17, she spent years trying to manage excessive hair growth, one of the most common and emotionally distressing symptoms of the condition. In under two years, she invested more than £7,000 across five different clinics, searching for results that never quite lasted.

What she experienced wasn’t just inconsistency, but a lack of understanding. Many clinics relied on weaker wavelengths or laser machines that weren’t designed for all hair or skin types. At-home devices were time-consuming and painful. Unregulated practitioners operating from home lacked the safety and hygiene standards. It was a lose-lose situation. She knew other women, especially those with hormonal conditions such as PCOS, must have been experiencing the same frustrations, and that’s where Laser Me Out was born.

Founded in 2022, the clinic was built on a commitment to superior technology, virtually pain-free treatments, and long-lasting results. Rather than cutting corners, Shireen invested in the Soprano Titanium laser, the gold standard of hair removal technology. Known for its ability to target the follicle deeply, with a built-in cooling tip to minimise discomfort, it allows larger areas such as full legs to be treated effectively in as little as 30 minutes.

Laser Me Out is the answer to limited and costly options, offering affordable care without ever compromising on quality. From its first clinic on Harley Street, the brand later moved to Baker Street, where it has been based ever since, building a reputation with over 1,000 five-star reviews.

But it was pregnancy that brought everything full circle. After years of navigating PCOS and worrying about her fertility, Shireen became pregnant with her first child in 2025. Alongside the excitement came a familiar frustration. Hormonal shifts during pregnancy can reactivate hair growth, even in areas that previously responded well to laser, leaving women feeling like they are starting again.

“Pregnancy made me realise how little support there is for women when their bodies change again” says Shireen. “You can have amazing results and then suddenly feel like you’re back at the beginning. Post-pregnancy, hair can return in places you don’t expect, and for me, developing hypothyroidism added another layer to the hormonal changes I was already navigating.

That doesn’t mean laser has failed, it means your hormones have changed, and your treatment needs to change with you. What I’ve found is that treatments like laser hair removal aren’t just about physical results, they help you feel like yourself again. After having a baby, taking time for self-care plays a huge role in reconnecting with who you were before. It’s not about perfection, it’s about feeling comfortable and confident in your own skin again.”

This insight shaped how Laser Me Out structures its treatments today. Rather than forcing clients into rigid packages, the clinic offers flexible options such as ‘Pick n Mix’, allowing specific areas of concern to be treated as they arise, alongside ‘one and done’ or ‘full-body’ packages depending on individual needs. If a client becomes pregnant, Laser Me Out extends the validity of their treatment package for an additional 24 months at no extra charge to allow for flexible support.

While standard laser hair removal courses are 6 to 8 sessions, PCOS typically requires 10 to 12, making ongoing treatment and maintenance costly. To remove this burden, Laser Me Out introduced its dedicated PCOS membership. It includes unlimited sessions, recognising that every woman’s hair growth is different, alongside access to a supportive community and monthly goody bags. It’s the treatment Shireen wished she had and is proud to now provide to others.

Now, that model is expanding beyond London. In November 2025, Shireen opened Laser Me Out’s second clinic on Hagley Road in Birmingham, making affordable laser hair removal more accessible across the UK.

With a significant skin of colour population, and research showing women from South Asian backgrounds are up to twice as likely to develop PCOS, the expansion to Birmingham responds to a clear need for more inclusive, specialist-led care.

This isn’t just a one-clinic success story, it reflects a shift in what women are actually looking for from laser hair removal. Shireen has turned her own experience of being let down by ineffective treatments into something more meaningful, building a company that prioritises flexibility, affordability and ongoing support from professional clinicians.

By moving away from a one-size-fits-all approach, Laser Me Out offers a more honest take on laser hair removal, one that supports women not just at one point in time, but through the different stages of life.
