BRITAIN’S ANSWER TO THE MARATHON DU MEDOC… IS BACK!
Hailed as England’s premier wine marathon, Run Bacchus returns for another year to boast more eye-catching fancy dress, stunning views of rolling vineyards and most notably… delicious, award-winning English wine.
On Sunday 8th September 2019, 2,750 participants will run through the beautiful Surrey countryside, serenaded by local bands playing en route and enjoying locally produced food at refreshment stations along the course.
This years remarkable event will once again be held in England’s largest vineyard, Denbies Wine Estate, in Dorking, with the option of participating in either the Full-Marathon, Half-Marathon or the newly introduced ‘Bacchus Lite’ 10km. The day is a quirky, fun-filled, family friendly occasion, promising to capture a truly unique running experience for all entrants.
The race has come to be held in high acclaim as Britain’s answer to France’s Marathon du Medoc, with the popular ‘refreshment’ stations dotted around the 26.2 mile, two-loop course unsurprisingly one of it’s biggest draws. Half-Marathon runners will complete one lap of the course, sampling six fabulous English wines, at five drinks stations, while lucky Full-Marathon runners will run two laps of the course with the opportunity to taste the wine twice!
A fantastic new addition for 2019 is the introduction of the shorter 10km event, where participants can either run, jog or walk the route, visiting one wine sample station along the way. Children are also able to participate in a Two-Mile Fun Run, ensuring that Run Bacchus caters for the whole family, with entry for the children’s event free and each finisher will receive a medal.

At the end of the race, the fun doesn’t stop as runner’s are greeted at the finish line by a post-race hog roast (and more wine), extending the activity long into the evening.
Entrants for the Full and Half-Marathon pay £50, while those favouring the new 10km paying just £30.
